No. 1. 4th of July
With summer in full swing, we went all in on the 4th of July! We started the day with neighborhood bike rides, a BBQ in the afternoon, and wrapped the day with a brilliant fireworks display.
No. 2. My Birthday
With my birthday on the 5th, it’s a 48-hour celebration around here! This year, I wanted a low-key day working in our garden, swimming, and playing pickleball.
No. 3. Dinner in the Backyard
On top of all the celebrating, I also hosted a little backyard dinner party this week. Several of my closest friends from college were in town so I seized the opportunity to have everyone over for a summer gathering. Syd spent all afternoon stringing lights from the trees and then it started storming right before the event. We scrambled and brought everything inside only for the clouds to part and the sun to shine again. We set everything up again and it ended up being a dreamy evening under the trees. I took on the party planning and tablescape, but figured I’d leave the cooking to the pros and had Chef Ortega cater the dinner – sooooo good.
