I’ve been dying to share this with you, it’s my latest event styling work for Kama Ayurveda. Come take a look at the photos.
In March, I had the joy of styling a press breakfast event for Kama Ayurveda at Carousel in central London. As part of the production team, my role as an event stylist was to curate the overall concept for the event and organise the logistics. I’ll explain more below.
Event Styling For Kama ayurveda In LOndon
This event was incredibly important for Kama Ayurveda because it was the European launch for this huge Indian beauty brand. Their products are going to be in Selfridges & Harrods from the 15th June.
This event was planned to spread the word about this luxury beauty brand. The national press was invited to the product launch over breakfast to try the products and hear from the founder and celebrity guest speakers.
The styling for the event was going to be seen by editors of national newspapers and magazines. So it was important for the event styling at the London venue to reflect the ethos of Kama Ayurveda.
I visited the venue in late February. And as part of the planning process, I worked closely with the marketing team at the London venue called Carousel.
Funny fact: the venue showed me a photos of event that they had hosted and loved the styling. And it turned out to be my event styling I did for Barclays at the same venue a few years ago. I took that as a huge complement.
Kama ayurveda: CONSCIOUS AND KIND Brand
As a brand, Kama has a commitment towards sustainability. They use natural ingredients in all their products, and all their packaging is eco-conscious. It’s was important to make sure the event reflected this ethos to the press.
That’s why I soured most of the table top accessories from local vintage shops in Brighton. I also dressed the shelves with antique books that I have stashed in my attic ready for events like this. I sourced vintage brown bottles that look like they could be in an apothecary. We printed the menus, good bags and labels out of recycled paper. And I used natural materials like linen, cotton and paper to make this the most eco-friendly event i have every styled
Styling the event
The tabletop scheme for the press breakfast was inspired by Kama’s brand colours of rust and green, with lots of textures added into the mix.
For maximum impact, I designed a jaw-dropping plant cloud to hang above the table as a centrepiece in the room. It took three of us to hang the cloud above the table because it was so packed with tropical plants. The client loved it so much, they took some of the plants home with them on the Eurostar.
I even styled the food with plant leaves to place under the breakfast goodies – and I styled up the display areas with the Kama beauty products and little stems.
We arrived at the venue at 7am (I left Brighton at 4:30am!) and we had two hours to set up. With the help of my assistants, I dressed the table for 35 guests, styled the gifting area with hanging plants and gifts, and then set up the shelving and the consultation areas.
By 9am, the venue was ready for the celebrity guest speaker, celebrity chef, Jasmine Hemsley who is a brand ambassador for Kama Ayurveda. She chatted through the benefits of the skin products and talked the press through the range.
Once the event was finished by 9am, and the press had been given goodies bags of product and food – my team packed up the event within 40 mins. I loaded up my car and drove home to Brighton. I was home by 12am.
What do you think if my event styling for this brand? I’m so pleased with the end result and I know that Kama got lots of coverage in the press too. The client was thrilled!
