Style Scouting: Vol. 159 – In My Own Style

  • Flip on Flipboard

Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.

Now that the first week of September is behind us, did you have a good week getting back to a normal routine?

As I mentioned in a previous post, I love the September back-to-school season and always find a need to go buy school supplies – a new notebook along with pens and pencils always feels exciting as it is one small way to begin a fresh start after a laid-back summer.

When I was a kid in school, I always chose a binder with colorful dividers and tabs that fit my personal style. I loved setting it up every year. This year, I didn’t have a need for a binder, but did buy a new daily planner called The Happy Planner at Michaels craft store to help me keep everything for the blog organized.

For the last few years I have tried online planners/organizing apps. I had such a hard time learning all the bells and whistles and never got the feel for using them. My brain doesn’t do the spreadsheet style interfaces very well that most of the apps like Airtable and others are build on. They make my mind go blank instead of getting focused. Does anybody else have this problem?

So it is back to the old-school printed planner, it works for me, so why try to change what works best, right?

Did you love getting new school supplies every year when you were a kid? What do you like to use to keep your work/life planned or organized?

Something to Think About

After decluttering every room in my house over the summer and feeling so good about it, here are two tips that may help motivate you to get any spaces around your house decluttered:
