Season’s greetings! Now that it’s November it’s full steam ahead on the holiday decorating. I’ve created new art prints for the 2023 season and they are all available in my online shop. Included in the holiday art collection are the seven new original designs as well as six vintage prints that I carefully retouched and resized for your convenience. All are inexpensive downloads that allow you to print and frame in the same day. Yay! Do you all recall the Halloween village I made back in September? Well…. surprise, I’ve reinvented it as a Christmas village. I hinted at the end of that post that this would be a great idea and sure enough, it was! This DIY Christmas village is easy to make and adds seasonal touch to any mantel or shelf. It’s made with wood houses, bristle brush trees, and a few additional supplies listed below. You can use any color trees you find to coordinate with your home’s seasonal color palette. I chose cheerful pink, turquoise, and green trees for my little…

Several months ago I started making state shaped ornaments with raw clay at my ceramics studio for a local market where I’m selling art prints and ceramics in early December. Those ceramic ornaments were fired in a kiln, however I thought to myself perhaps I could recreate them with air dry clay for those who don’t have kiln access and the experiment was successful so good news, you can also make these with air dry clay! I’m always intrigued when I see creative artistic expression in forms unfamiliar to me. Last week, I was browsing Pinterest and happened across a series of floral arrangements in the Japanese style of ikebana. Ikebana dates back many centuries in Japan. I gave our hallway a makeover this week with a DIY furniture upgrade and a gallery of art, I’ll share pictures next week. The Minimalism Game began on the 1st and already I’m busy purging my home of things I don’t need, a few sales of big ticket items but the majority will be donations. It feels good to be challenged, and there is still time to join in! I’m posting my donations every few days on Instagram stories to keep myself and participants motivated! We’ve moved much of our furniture back into the house but I’ve rearranged a few…

Hi everyone! I’m back from our trip to Florida, we had a nice vacation and I feel so rested. I received a question from a reader who’s teen is off to college about what are some necessities for living in a dorm. My daughter spent a year in a dorm last year. I remembered a lot of what we had purchased for her, but she also reminded me of a few items that she liked having since she lived the experience. Last year, we shopped on Dormify and PB Teen and also hit up Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, and…
